A Unique Design Opportunity
This upscale warm organic modern home for the Boise Fall Parade was a fantastic opportunity for me. I utilized new materials and unique interior design solutions. It was exciting to explore different materials and concepts.

The Design-Build Process
I prefer design-build projects. They involve three specialized professionals working together. This team assesses feasibility, aesthetics, and costs before starting demolition on a remodel or breaking ground on new construction.
The architect or architectural draftsperson develops a floor plan for the home. This plan establishes the foundation necessary for both structural and aesthetic enhancements.
Integrating Design Elements
Building on the floor plan, an interior designer integrates cabinetry, plumbing, electrical components, and furniture into the design. This process ensures that every aspect of the home complements the overall vision.
A 3D rendering is then produced. This visualization highlights the selected materials and design elements, allowing clients to see the final appearance of the space.
Budgeting and Timeline
Based on the construction documentation, the builder creates a budget and timeline for both design and materials. This step is crucial for keeping the project on track.
The best method involves a team made up of a contractor, an interior designer, and an architect or architectural draftsperson. True design-build projects utilize the skills of all three experts to develop construction documents that realize the final design.
