Monica considers spatial planning, cabinetry, architectural details, lighting, materials and finishes together, coordinating with the architect and builder as the scope requires. The goal is a result that feels cohesive with the home while making the most of the opportunity to improve it.
3D VISUALIZATION
Detailed 3D visualization helps clients evaluate cabinetry, proportions, materials and architectural details before construction decisions become costly to change. Renderings support informed decisions and help communicate the design intent to the project team.
INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTATIONS
For homeowners who need professional guidance with a defined portion of a project, design consultation is available at $125 per hour with a 25-hour minimum engagement. The scope is tailored to the decisions at hand and confirmed before work begins.
For custom homes and significant remodels, the design fee is tailored to project scope and may be structured by square footage, hourly services or a combination. The proposal defines the services and fee structure for each engagement.

A thoughtful process from early planning through the finishing details.Every project is different, but the most successful homes begin with a clear vision and a collaborative approach. Monica Macha Design works closely with homeowners, architects and builders to create interiors that feel cohesive with the architecture, function beautifully, and reflect the way each client wants to live.
01 - Discovery & Project Direction
I begin by understanding your home, lifestyle, priorities and aesthetic. For remodels, we also look closely at the existing architecture - what should be preserved, what isn't working, and where thoughtful changes can have the greatest impact.
02 - Space Planning & Architectural Collaboration
Early design decisions shape everything that follows. I review plans and explore layouts, circulation, cabinetry, interior architectural details and key relationships within the home. For larger remodels and custom homes, I collaborate with the architect and builder so interior design decisions are considered alongside architectural and construction requirements.
03 - Design Development
With the overall direction established, the interior begins to take shape. I develop the material palette and select cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware and other architectural finishes. Selections are considered together so the home develops as one cohesive composition rather than a collection of individual decisions.
04 - 3D VisualizationDetailed
3D visualization allows clients to experience important spaces before they are built. Cabinetry, materials, lighting, architectural details and furnishings can be studied together, helping clients make decisions with greater confidence while giving the project team a clearer understanding of the design intent.
05 - Design Details & Specifications
Once selections are refined, I organize the details needed to communicate the design to the project team. Depending on the scope, this may include cabinetry concepts and elevations, finish schedules, fixture and lighting specifications, material selections and other interior design documentation. Architectural, structural and permit drawings are provided by the appropriate licensed professionals when required.
06 - Construction Collaboration
Design involvement continues during construction. I coordinate with the builder and trades, respond to design questions, review details and help resolve the inevitable decisions that arise as the project moves from drawings to reality. Maintaining continuity through construction helps protect the original design vision.
07 - Furnishings & Final Layer
For clients who choose full-service furnishings, I complete the home with furniture, rugs, window treatments, art and accessories selected specifically for the architecture and interiors. Procurement, delivery, installation and final styling can be managed through Monica Macha Design, creating a finished home that feels considered from architecture to the last detail.
